AVISÉ Program Selects SecurMEDIC's SmartCARE™
PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Montréal, October 13, 2026. At SecurMEDIC, we are announcing that SmartCARE™, our connected electrocardiogram, has been selected by MEDTEQ+'s AVISÉ program. MEDTEQ+ is a pan-Canadian consortium for industrial research and innovation in health. This funding will allow the solution to be evaluated in real-world care settings, in collaboration with Santé Québec Laurentides.
“Our ambition with SmartCARE™ is to make continuous cardiac monitoring more accessible, beyond the walls of the hospital. By enabling care teams to detect anomalies more quickly and intervene proactively, we hope to contribute to safer care and greater autonomy for patients at home. This collaboration with MEDTEQ+ and with dedicated, innovative clinical teams committed to improving care is a unique opportunity to validate our technology in real-world conditions and demonstrate its potential to advance health care.”
Renaud Levert, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, SecurMEDIC
SmartCARE™ is an electrocardiogram, meaning a device that records the electrical activity of the heart. Thanks to its connection, it allows remote, continuous monitoring of the cardiac status of at-risk patients, as well as of people preparing for or recovering from surgery. The data is transmitted securely, and the solution detects cardiac anomalies. This monitoring helps identify a decline in health early, so that care teams can intervene when needed.
The evaluation will be led by the NIM Intelliance team at Santé Québec Nord-de-l'Île-de-Montréal, a university-affiliated institution that is part of the Health Evaluation and Innovation Network (RÉIS). It will focus in particular on the safety and quality of care at home, on keeping patients in their own homes, and on reducing avoidable hospitalizations and consultations. Santé Québec Laurentides will host the evaluation.
“Being selected by the AVISÉ program confirms that SmartCARE™ meets a real need in the health care network: better monitoring of at-risk patients while allowing them to stay at home. We are proud to collaborate jointly with Santé Québec Laurentides and the NIM team to demonstrate, with data to back it up, what remote cardiac monitoring can bring to patients, professionals and institutions.”

Annie-Kim Gilbert, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of MEDTEQ+, stated, regarding the call for projects as a whole, that the organization is proud to contribute “… to bringing innovations closer to patients and health care professionals.”

The AVISÉ program, supported by the Québec Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy and delivered with RÉIS, gives health technology companies access to real care settings and the clinical expertise needed to evaluate their solutions. SmartCARE™ is one of the nine projects in the third and final round, announced by MEDTEQ+ on September 30, 2026. These nine projects represent nearly $7.4 million, of which nearly $3.3 million comes from the Government of Québec. The call for projects selected twenty-four collaborative projects this year.
